What you should have before and after your visit to the eye doctor
Have you ever visited your eye doctor and you were
asked questions relevant to your eye and general
health, and you couldn’t answer?
If yes, you are not alone. Many patients are unable to
provide details about their health history as well as
other relevant information that the eye doctor needs
to make accurate diagnosis and treatment
recommendations.
Inability to provide details about your health history
can be embarrassing for you as a patient and often
makes the doctor’s job more difficult. It can also delay
treatment and cost you more money when you have an
emergency, and your regular eye doctor is unavailable
to provide the details required.
To avoid this situation, I have put together a list of
items and information you should have before and
after you visit an eye doctor.
Go through the list. Tick the ones you have. Identify the
ones you do not have and make arrangement to get
them before you ever need them.
